ITV1's latest 'event' drama Collision is scheduled across five consecutive 9pm slots starting November 9th. Centered on a deadly traffic pile-up the series features eighty visual effects shots by Space Digital.

Critical to the story were multiple effects, including impact enhancement, exploding windows, dummy replacement, and digital removal of safety equipment.

Additionally the crash sequence and aftermath were filmed on a simulated section of road with limited length. Space artists extended the set in more than a dozen difficult shots including through drivers' POVs.

Other challenges included adding pools of petrol to road surfaces, enhancing make-up and adding extra cars to shot backgrounds.
